Introduction
The population of a Journey is defined within the Queryly node. The definition of the population defines the trigger allowing an individual to enter the Journey.
Parameterization of Queryly node
The Queryly node is natively placed in the second step of the Journey, after the trigger node.
Two parameters are required to set up Journey:
- Segment : Population entering the Journey. All Queryly segments shared in Journey are listed here.
On a new Journey execution, the Queryly node updates the population according to the criteria defined in the segment. - Journey entry mode: Defines the rules for entering an individual into Journey.
- Unlimited, at each execution, the entire population of the Queryly segment will begin the Journey.
- Once entry into the Journey, an individual will only be able to enter the Journey once.
Usage case: As part of a welcome Journey, an individual will only go through the Journey once. - One-time entry over a duration, during the defined time lapse an individual will not start the journey again.
Usage case : As part of an Inactive Wake-Up Journey, the individual will only enter the journey once every 6 months - One-time entry over a duration (sales pressure), in addition to one-time entry over a duration, the individual will only enter the journey a certain number of times over a longer duration.
Use case: As part of a journey following a purchase, the individual will only enter once over a 7-day period (single entry over a duration), but will only be able to enter twice over a one-month period (commercial pressure).
Conclusion
The Queryly node defines the incoming population for each new Journey execution.
The population then traverses the various stages that follow.
