Introduction
A criteria is a data that is accessible to your group. Criteria are used to add and exclude populations using configured fields in the database.
Add a criteria
Once the segment has been created, you can add an initial criteria
- Choose the type of data
Find out how to choose your data type
- Drag and Drop the data
- Choose the field to be used for filtering
All columns can be used.
- Choose the operator for my field
Select the operator to define the filter for the field
There are different criteria operators.
- Choose the value for my field
Choose the value(s) on which to apply the operator for my selected field.
Adding a criterion to exclude a population is similar, see the article Understanding exclusion criteria.
Assembling criteria
When you add more than one criteria to the edit zone, the criteria are combined to form the query defining your segment.
All the criteria in the edit zone are linked by an AND or OR operator.
There are two possible hierarchical levels for creating links between filters:
- within a group ;
- within two different groups.
Within a criteria, conditions are linked by an AND.
eg :
- The two conditions "Region" and "Age" are linked by an AND in the same criterion;
- The two criteria in group 1 are linked by an AND ;
- Groups 1 and 2 are linked by an OR.
Logical links at the same level are the same throughout the segment.
They can be toggled between AND and OR by clicking on them.
AND link :
Two criteria linked by an "AND" link will search for an individual meeting both criteria.
OR link :
Two criteria linked by an "OR" will search for an individual meeting one or other of the criteria.
Result
Add one or more inclusion criteria and, if you wish, one or more exclusion criteria to build your population segment.
