Introduction
Factorly lets you create and use so-called saved blocks. These blocks are available in the Library of Saved Blocks and accessible from the content editor.
The saved blocks facilitate content creation by allowing the reuse of elements (e.g. templated structure, header, legal notice)
Using saved blocks in content
Saved blocks are accessible from the Draq & Drop editor side bar, in the Saved blocks section.
Using the block in content is done by drag-and-drop in the content editing area.
Once used in content, a saved block is identified by a violet frame.
Updating or editing a saved block from the content is possible, and depends on the following scenarios:
- The block update only concerns the current content
Via the Detach option, the block loses its link with its parent and is no longer considered a block instance. Editing is then possible like any other content element.
The parent block needs to be updated, editing is subject to permissions, it is accessible from:
- The block library
- The option menu dsiponible when hovering over the block in the side bar
- The options available when hovering over the block in the content
- A new version of the parent block is available
If a new version of the parent block is available the reset button reloads the new version of the block.
