Context
In order to comply precisely with the CNIL’s new recommendations regarding the use of tracking pixels in emails (see regulations), the Numberly MarTech Platform (NMP) is updating its features. As a reminder, these guidelines apply to all French companies, as well as to foreign entities sending email communications to individuals residing in France.
To support this transition, the NMP is rolling out a compliance plan structured into several technology phases detailed below. This article will be updated as developments unfold; we invite you to subscribe to it to automatically receive update notifications.
Phase 1: Optional Native Tracking (Available on 07/01/2026)
Previously enabled by default for all email campaigns, native tracking (measurement of opens and clicks displayed in Dashboardly) is now fully optional. A new feature allows you to control its activation on a granular basis for your email campaigns and Journeys.
You can now choose to enable or disable tracking for:
Individual openings
Individual Clicks
How does it work?
These adjustments can be made centrally by administrators (users with General Admin permission for the Sendingly module) in the group settings of the Sendingly interface.
Users can also fine-tune these settings directly at the campaign or Journey message level from the Content tab and then clicking the Tracking button.
The interface includes new visual cues:
New status indicators: A dedicated visual indicator allows you to instantly identify the type of tracking (native and/or third-party) active on your campaign as you’re setting it up.
Accessibility of tracking data: The status of the applied tracking can be viewed at any time from your campaigns’ details page.
Note:
Permission Hierarchy: Once open and/or click tracking is disabled at the group level, it is no longer possible for a user to re-enable it locally when creating a campaign within that group.
Backward Compatibility: Any changes to this configuration at the group level are immediately applied to all future sends for all campaigns and Journeys, with the sole exception of application campaigns that have already been published.
Batch 2: Tracking Opt-Out Page (Available on 07/15/2026)
To provide recipients of your communications with a simplified opt-out process, a dedicated tracking opt-out page will be made available shortly. It can also be used for the informational email to be sent before July 14.
To help you, three major new features are now available:
Integration via Factorly: You’ll be able to directly insert the link to this opt-out page when editing your email in Factorly, whether using the Drag & Drop editor (DnD) or directly in the code
At the client level: The administrator can create and manage tracking consents. They select a default consent that applies to all groups. It is also possible to modify existing consents.
At the group level: The administrator can customize the tracking consent used for all email campaigns in the relevant group.
Note:
Any changes to the tracking consent configuration apply only to new campaigns. Existing campaigns retain the consent setting that was active at the time of their creation.
The default tracking consent applies only to groups that have not customized their own settings.
A group can be assigned only one tracking consent.
Configuring an external opt-out link for the group: Administrators (users with General Admin permission) can configure an opt-out link applicable to the group in the "Email Options" section of the Sendingly admin panel when data collection is outsourced.
Batch 3: Tracking Pixel (Available on 07/29/2026)
This release introduces major changes to Sendingly’s administration features, spanning the client, group, and campaign creation levels.
Updates to Client-Level, Group-Level, and Campaign Creation Management (Content tab)
Tracking Management: A new "Tracking" section has been added at the client level to enable or disable the collection of opens and clicks (Native Tracking) by default across all groups.
At the group and campaign levels, the old Native Tracking section has been replaced by this new section.
If open tracking is enabled, the user will be able to precisely define the consent policy applicable to opens in two ways:
Collect all opens, regardless of consent: Do not apply any specific consent requirements to the measurement of openings.
Collect all page views exclusively for contacts who have formally consented to tracking.
As a reminder, the association of consent with the open pixel to be used for a group is done directly from the "Consent" section of the relevant group.
Note:
- Third-party tracking management and email tracking domains are not available at the client level.
Permission Hierarchy: The tracking configuration defined at the client level applies by default to all groups and campaigns (for groups that have not customized their tracking). However, unlike in Batch 1 (see section above), it is now possible to customize this configuration at both the group and campaign levels to override the parent rule (e.g., enable click tracking at the group or campaign level even if it is disabled at the client level).
Rule Backward Compatibility: Any changes to tracking configuration are not retroactive and will apply only to future campaigns.
Impact on Statistics in Dashboardly
Configuring these settings will directly affect your performance metrics in Dashboardly. As a result, some data required for campaign reports may be unavailable or incomplete. To assist users, a dedicated informational message is displayed directly in the interface to explain these changes.
