Introduction
The responsive design is the method that ensures your emails display correctly and offer a pleasant experience on all devices (phone, tablet, or computer).
As the majority of emails are now opened on mobile, adopting a responsive design is essential to reach your recipients optimally.
How to create responsive content with Factorly?
Factorly lets you create responsive emails based on several dimensions:
Fluent Content by default
By default, Factorly ensures fluent behavior of your emails.
- Content naturally adapts to screen size.
- Thanks to percentage-defined widths, blocks automatically stretch or retract to adjust width to the reading medium (computer, tablet or mobile).
Column behavior on mobile (3 options)
You have three options for managing the display of your columns on mobile:
- Columns side by side - the'adaptive column behavior on mobile'option is enabled : Columns retain their horizontal layout, even on mobile.
- Standard stacking - the option'adaptive column behavior on mobile'is disabled : For better legibility, columns are placed one below the other (line feed) on mobile.
- Reverse stacking - The 'Reverse column order on mobile' option is enabled: Columns go to the line on mobile, but the display order is reversed compared to the computer version.
Adaptive image behavior
Images can be configured in two main modes:
-
Size in percent (%)
The image automatically adjusts its width to the screen while preserving its proportions. This is the best option for harmonious display on all media. -
Fixed pixel size
The image retains the exact width you set, ensuring precise design control on the desktop.
Mobile tip:Even if you choose a fixed size, you can force the image to display at 100% of width only on mobile.
Double Integration
Double Integration is the most personalized approach. It consists in creating two different structures of the same content block (one for computer, one for mobile) to display or hide only one version depending on the device.
Element visibility control:
By default, all elements are visible on computer and mobile. To adjust the display of an element as required:
-
Display on computer only:
Select Edit line structure > Mobile behavior > Choose 'Computer only' from drop-down list. -
Display on Mobile only:
Select Edit line structure > Mobile behavior > Choose 'Mobile only' from the drop-down list.
Conclusion
Responsive design is essential in the mobile age. Factorly provides you with all the tools you need to ensure your emails display optimally and efficiently on both desktop and mobile, maximizing the impact of your campaigns.
