Introduction
Once all the steps in the email journey have been validated, the campaign's Schedule tab becomes accessible.
Scheduling an automatic campaign
The following elements are to be completed:
- Sending frequency: Hourly, weekly or monthly.
-
Shipping days:
- If the frequency is every hour: thecampaign will be sent every hour from the activation date .
- If frequency is weekly: choose the day of the week.
-
If frequency is monthly:
- On the nth day, every so much of the month (the 15th of the month, every 2 months for example);
- The nth day of the week of the month, every so many months (the second Thursday of the month, every 3 months for example).
-
Send time. It is possible to choose between:
- a fixed sending time to be specified with the time zone
-
an optimal sending time per contact thanks to the Sending Time Optimization (STO) feature.
- This option is not compatible with Sending Time Frequency.
-
To guarantee deliverability, a safety threshold is applied. When the volume of a single campaign exceeds 150,000 messages per hour, these are automatically spread out over time at a speed of 150,000 messages per hour. This regulation may result in messages being sent outside the time slots defined by the STO
.
-
Routing time (optional):
-
if left blank, sending is performed at a pre-configured default speed (generally 50,000 emails per hour, but can change at your request).
-
if STO functionality is enabled then it won't be possible to set a routing time.
-
-
Routing interruption period(s) (optional): add one or more
intervals.time when shipments are paused (example, between 9pm and 8am). If STO functionality is enabled, then sending times are included in a time range determined during its setup.
Clicking on View summary & schedule, an insert appears with a reminder of the various campaign parameters. This insert allows
- check that everything is consistent
- confirm that the checks have been carried out by ticking the associated boxes
- program the campaign by clicking on the Program button.
Conclusion
The campaign is now scheduled! You can follow the status of the shipment with Watchly.
