Introduction
In the Sendingly settings, you can enable open tracking and choose the consent policy applicable to opens in two ways:
Collect all opens, regardless of consent: Do not apply any specific consent requirements to the measurement of page views.
Collect all page views exclusively for users who have formally consented to tracking.
Consent management
When the open tracking policy requires tracking consent, Sendingly determines the recipient’s opt-in status based on the following logic:
If the list contains a field named CONSENT_TYPE_TRACKING_VALUE: Sendingly directly uses the value in the imported file to verify whether the contact has opted in or not. Be sure to meet the following requirements when feeding the list:
| Parameter | Expected Specification |
| Column Name | CONSENT_TYPE_TRACKING_VALUE |
| Recommended data type | Integer (INTEGER) |
| Allowed Values | null (Not specified),0 (Opt-out),1 (Consent / Opt-in) |
If the list does not contain a field named CONSENT_TYPE_TRACKING_VALUE: Sendingly automatically retrieves the consent value stored in the CRM database (no data is retrieved from the unified CDP database).
Conclusion
When a campaign is configured to measure only opens subject to tracking consent, tracking applies exclusively to contacts whose CONSENT_TYPE_TRACKING_VALUE is equal to 1 in the list. Be sure to meet the technical requirements for your contact list to ensure that tracking is activated correctly
