Introduction
Some conditions and good practices must be respected for the URL preview to appear in the SMS content. This article summarises the best practices for SMS content on Sendingly. You can find the conditions for the preview to be displayed correctly in the dedicated article in the Factorly module.
Best practice in a SMS
Important practices for maximising the likelihood of having a visible preview:
- The URL of the web page must contain a https:// or http:// protocol. In the case of a short link, simply add https://[shortlink].
- The message must contain only one URL. If it contains more than one, no preview may appear, so take care when adding an unsubscribe link via URL.
- The "$" sign in the URL is forbidden to have the preview on an iOs email system.
- The URL must be located either at the very beginning or at the very end of an SMS for it to be compatible with an iOS messaging system. Be careful to place the URL after the words STOP SMS in the case of a marketing campaign.
Conclusion
- For iOS, the sender number must be saved on the mobile
- Preview is compatible with the latest Android messaging systems (V3.2)
- It is necessary to click to display the preview on some devices
- The URL must start with http(s)://
- The SMS must contain only one URL
- The URL must be at the beginning or end of the SMS (iOS)
- No $ in the URL
You can set up the preview from the Drag & Drop editor. You can also set up the preview of a URL in an SMS by integrating the preview tags directly into the HTML code of a web page.
